Is it blind faith?

“hail mary, full of grace, the lord is with you..

…pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.amen”

The prayer which i recite from my school days.Im still oscillating between hinduism and christianity.Because the bond which the christian missionary created in me is so strong,me being a hindu.Whether it be a rosery or    rudhraksha ,the purpose is to feel divinity.Nonetheless most of us are agnotic theists. We don’t question the existence of God but still we believe in him.All of our knowledge about his existence is what we hear and it is being passed on for ages.here is an incident for you..

when i was doing my 11th grade i went to a parlor for a hair-cut.Since the lady of the salon was yet to come,i started talking with a young lady who was cleaning the salon(i assume that she is the assisstant),since only two of us were there.I dont remember how,but the talk diverted towards religion. She herself told me that she is a transformed christian.I was very curious to know why she switched religion. What she said trembled me.She said that she was possessed by a soul and that she was taken to many temples but found no cure. Then a baptistic priest visited her house. He sprinkled holy water on her and soon, she was alright.i felt like running out of the parlor(the way she stared at me was very scary)..But thank God,another customer came in.As soon as i returned home,i narrated the whole story to my mom,to know what she feels. But then she was so convincing and made me understand that nothing of that sort exists.Phew!

will continue in the next post:)

Beauty alert!

•June 7, 2008 • Leave a Comment

When it comes to beauty and use of beauty products, women should be more cautious. It is we who have to be careful. One incident struck me.My friend was so particular in straightening her hair.but parlours charge almost 8000 bucks. Also there is a rumour that straightened hair doesn’t last long and it has to be repeated once in 2 years.hair-straightening machines in stores fancied her and soon a feather was in her cap.She started doing it once in two weeks without proper use of straightening creams…The result is hair loss.twas very terrible to look at her..she avoided going out.She had to face so much of humiliations,it took almost 2 years for her to get back her original thick hair(after treatments).so never try any product without proper guidance.

Also there are lots of fairness creams in the market..this is my experience..three years ago,i tried a particular fairness cream, which resulted in white spots all over my face.although it was not ugly, its something unusual. From then, i switched to home-made packs.believe me! it works. It can be anything as simple as  tomato juice to something as complicated as ‘mixing so many fairness boosters’.Tell you what, nothing can boost fairness.we can only remove our dead skin cells and thus regain our original color(the color we had 3 weeks after birth).

Our body needs a balance.A balance between the intake and the output. One who is able to manage this,is always beautiful!

crushes are common”

              Don’t crush her heart;

                             Its after all a crush.

I have seen people humiliating their peers when they let out thier liking for a guy/girl.Lets see what do they do when it comes to their crushes. Its natural and it indicates that a teenager is very normal and healthy.Infact if such likings don’t arise, then its a blunder. Also its very common to have multiple crushes. But its healthy to chose one among those many.good luck to you;)

Ghost call!

•May 5, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Sometimes when im alone in my room, its strange that i hear the ringing of my cell phone..Im delighted when i hear it,but when i run to pick it up,i get disappointed seeing that there is no call.

This is a psychological disorder in which the sufferer hears the mobile phone ringing ,inspite of no calls or messages. This is mainly attributed to the lonely environment the sufferer is pushing him/her into.

That’s one more thread in tech’s tightening grip on us. In a growing phenomenon called ringxiety or fauxcellarm, sufferers hear the SMS beep or ring tone, even feel the vibrations when these are non-existent. Medical dictionaries might christen it “phantom mobile call”. Ah, sweet revenge! Mobile users began their public assault by stepping onto balconies and verandahs to connect loudly and wirelessly. Then, cell phone in hand stepped into the streets. They walked down crowded streets merrily chatting with disembodied voices. In a pavlovian response(attributed to Ivon pavlov),people reach for the mobile even before it rings. In front of that hypnotising 6”x 3”, you, who can speak, hear and gnash teeth, are a powerless shadow. Your listener keeps casting glances at the little monster’s face for SMS. You were then startled by the sight of shoppers talking to themselves in shop aisles. Mind-boggling choices must have done him in, you thought, till you noticed the wires and the widgety buttons in the ears. The wire-free avatars dug a new low in public behaviour. Ringxiety is probably poetic justice. Retribution for mobile users’ contempt for the convenience of those around. Lesson: you can’t escape the wireless web you’ve spun around yourself.

In my opinion, checking a phantom ring isn’t a disorder.it is just a ring anticipation. How about the “pre-feel” (it’s going to ring) and “post-feel” (vibrations when it’s not there)? ” non-stop mobile users are  pushed to this sort of a habit”..it is but the very truth:)

All about that..

She was reading  at 11:00 in the night; alone in an apartment in Karol Bagh,Delhi. She chose to live in Karol Bagh since its a major business area and one can spot people at any time. Her dad was very happy, that his daughter, unlike her mom and many other women in his family,is able to face life alone as a woman…..Suddenly her cellphone beeped.Wondering whom it might be,she checked the message. It read “Come out, immediately”.She was thrilled by that message.Thinking of her friends in college(it was her B’day too),she came out in night pants, locking the door.It was a sudden whoosh that she felt and then she became unconscious. The next day,she was in the headlines.Yes,the spreading sex crimes and the irresponsible khakhis, nothing could be done after a accident like this .But people can be more cautious.Or the most easiest way of eradicating such crimes from our country is educating the younger generation and showing them a positive attitude. Our former president was in my college a few days back,i saw a totally different approach from him.”change not ,the students;change thee”;is what he said to my professors, they took an oath also.but nothing is working out.The literal meaning of what he said is,even if a student has so much difficulty in learning,go his way.Teach him in a way in which he will accept it;learn it.

Ever wondered why??

Here i am,getting my spirits high on may day(a day  dedicated to the working class). What to do–jobless most of the time. The only constructive thing that i can do on a holiday like this is–blog.I was just going through the thoughts of fellow bloggers. One particular page struck me.It was about parental care.First of all, parents have to understand that their children are replicas of them in one or other way. They mould their characters taking their parents’ as role model. That’s because of their major time spent at home.To all those parents who let your bitterness, bad experiences, annoyance and anger towards your child, remember it infects your child’s psyche greatly.

Delicious chocolates..no substitute

•May 1, 2008 • Leave a Comment

And now about chocolates, one of my all time favorites.Im particularly distracted by ferro rocher or hershey’s or even Cadbury is fine. But im never turned up by those multi-colored gummy beans .Chocolate is said to contain at least 300 natural chemical compounds, resulting in a complex range of tastes and odours that connect with the human brain as it runs over the taste buds of the tongue. The slowly released energy and feelings of fullness and satisfaction induced by its sugar and fat content, refuel the body’s energy levels and create feelings of wellbeing. Eating chocolate triggers the release of endorphins, mood enhancing chemicals produced by the brain. These produce feelings of pleasure. Besides being an aphrodisiac ,the high cocoa content also aggravates acne.So its better that teenagers prone to acne avoid  chocolates. But once in a while, its ok .chocolates have a blend of flavours and aromas so complex that food chemists have never been able to duplicate it in the lab .Interesting eh!Forgot to tell something, chocolates can also be used as a face pack, especially it works for those with really oily faces…and leaves a fresh ,soft texture.try it!

Say no to cancer with Camellia..

•April 30, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Wondering what Camellia is??..Well Camellia sinensis is the botanical name for green tea. Most of us are familiar with green tea, even i have started to drink a cup everyday. But green tea and cancer??Yes.Very recently a discovery was made by an Indian chemist in MIT,that antioxidants present in green tea are capable of destroying cancer cells.Agglumarates of anti-cancer agents were separated from the parent plant and they were used to manufacture tablets.Approximately 85000USD was awarded to this young lady by the United states Environment Protection Agency. Also green tea has been attributed with a plethora of health promoting factors, reduces ethanol toxicity, blah blah blah.I’ll tell something which adds taste to green tea.A few teaspoons of lemon or honey or even mint leaves will do.But don’t ever try green tea with milk, because polyphenol composition of green tea is altered to cause adverse effects in human body.So why not switch to green tea??

Volgograd or tver…beware

The very first thought that comes to your mind will be..what’s with these two Russian provinces??These are not the only medical schools to which many indian students are sent to pursue their  medical degree..Lot more can be added to this list.(approximately 27 schools).Medical education in India is in no way cheap compared to other countries.Only government colleges offer education at low cost.other institutions are simply business dealers demanding a huge sum of 50 lakhs. So what can middle-class medical aspirants do?? Go in for colleges which are affordable??  many money-minded magnets target these poor children, mesmerize them and in the cover of assured medical degree send them to some no man’s land.As far as Russia or China is concerned, there are no trained professors.Students literally had to bribe the teacher to clear the examination. In Russia, the condition is even worse, even to get a loaf of bread, one can’t go out, because if whites spot us we will be beaten up with no humility.Right from getting a vodka to the lab-attendant,To ,bearing with the killing cold, eveything seems to be hell.A student’s life doesn’t end with those 7 years, their is no provision for them to practice anywhere else in the world ,unless they sit and cram for the license exams;waste another year to clear them; Then get some job for a meagre pay of say 500 Rupees per day.It is very difficult for them to live their life. Some even manage this kind of life. My suggestion is,better think twice or thrice or even several times, before ending up in any such conclusions.

March past or walk past

•March 21, 2008 • Leave a Comment

yesterday was annual sports day at college.i had to lead a team of girls in march past representing my college. We were all-set but we totally lacked in practice due to too much of other activities. The girls were too tired and also sluggish to march ,since the day was rainy and the ground was
very muddy. So in front of  the chief guest, obviously the vice chancellor of our university,we just did walking and not marching.also their were some technical faults in giving commands.so we missed our shield.Anyway im not the kind who will worry for silly things like missing the shield,so its over with yesterday. And what next??
